Freddy's Custard & Steakburgers Breaks Ground In Middletown - First In DE!

A new-to-Delaware burger and ice cream joint finally broke ground in Middletown! Originally approved by Middletown in 2023, Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers plans to serve up smash-style burgers, fish sandwiches, chicken tenders, prime rib burgers and more!

Freddy's was born in the midwest in 2002 and has been expanding rapidly on the East coast since being sold privately to Thompson Street Capital Partners in 2021. Several Freddy's have opened up in the Philadelphia region in the past few years, but this will be the first in the First State!

Positioned in the Kohls parking lot directly next to the popular Chic-fil-A, the Freddy's will feature drive thru ordering and a retro themed interior reminiscent of a 50's style diner. The overall concept is similar to a Shake Shack or Sonic.

Freddy's says each patty is pressed thin to create crispy edges and is finished with "Freddy's Famous Steakburger and fry seasoning". Every burger is cooked-to-order with your choice of toppings. Their fries are shoestring (as they should be!) and custard offerings include shakes, coffee blends, orange creamcicles, root beer floats and their "signature turtle" which is vanilla custard, hot fudge, hot caramel & toasted pecans. If you're not feeling adventerous, you can also just get custard in a dish!

The new Middletown Freddy's will be in the Kohls parking lot and next to the Chic-fil-A.

Sides include onion rings, chili cheese fries, tater tots, cheese curds, kettle chips and more! Pricing seems comparable to other similar restaurants. A classic double burger, side and drink will run you $10.49 and a kids burger combo is around $6.49.
