New Auto Zone Approved Near Cheswold Walmart

Sitting just out front of the Walmart in Cheswold, a new Auto Zone was recently approved by the Town. The space is currently a vacant lot next to Taco Bell, which opened last year. The new Auto Zone will be just over 7300 square feet and will be a retail operation only (no automotive repair on site).

The site plan submitted shows 28 parking spaces, with access from Jerome Dr. and Route 13; though you'll only be able to exit the property by using Jerome Drive. It is being built as part of the McGinnis Green shopping center.

There seems to be a surge in car repair and care, with car washes and auto repair chains popping up in nearly every town. A newer Advanced Auto Parts sits just a mile south of this proposed location. Auto Zone has also recently opened stores in Chestertown and Centreville, Maryland.
