New Draper Brothers Store Approved For Centreville

The owners of Drapers Liquors, a landmark for years in Centreville, submitted plans for a new store to the Centreville Planning Commission. The proposed store will be entirely new and built directly behind the current location, at 2615 Centreville Road.

The area is currently two separate parcels and both will be combined into one single parcel. Once the new store is operational, the existing building, which is just off the roadway of Rt 213, will be demolished to allow for the completion of the parking lot and sidewalks.

Many know Drapers for their delicious subs. The design proposal includes a large corner for kitchen and sub prep, deli case, a "beer cave" cooler and plenty of wall coolers for those refreshing adult drinks! You'll also see in the design a new tasting corner.

The plans received preliminary site approval by the planning commission on Wednesday, April 14. Preliminary site approval is an initial review of a development proposal, ensuring the general layout meets zoning regulations and other standards. The Planning Commission recommended some changes and the addition of some landscaping.

Final site approval, on the other hand, is the comprehensive, detailed review and acceptance of the complete development plan, including all construction details, and is necessary before a building permit can be issued.

The project was presented again for final approval on July 16th. The Planning Commission voted in favor of granting final site approval.

The new store is very modern and appealing to the eye. We see they carry their logo over to the new store as well. Parking will be where the existing store is located, with spaces for 22 vehicles. A separate loading area will be on the back corner of the store.
