Leases have been signed for a new Books-A-Million location and a new First Citizens Community Bank (FCCB). Both establishments will be occupying space in the "North Dover Center" shopping center, a post on the Millbrook Properties website confirmed. The popular shopping hub is located directly in front of Dover Motor Speedway and is home to TjMaxx and Hobby Lobby, among several other retail stores. The BAM! store, which will be their first in Delaware, will be taking the place of the recently vacated and bankrupt Party City.

Books-A-Million was founded in 1917 and has grown to become a premier book retailing chain in the southeastern United States, and the second largest book retailer in the nation. (Barnes and Noble is number 1). BAM! operates over 260 stores in 32 states. The company also owns the 2nd & Charles stores, which has a location near the Christiana Mall. The closest BAM! stores are outside Baltimore, MD and Atlantic City, NJ!

The Books-A-Million website states their stores range from 4,000 to 30,000 square feet and provide a selection of books, magazines, bargain books, collectible supplies, toys, technology and gift departments. Some Books-A-Million stores also feature "Joe Muggs Cafè" – a full line coffee and espresso bar offering a selection of gourmet coffees, teas, desserts and brewing supplies.

We reached out to Books-A-Million but so far no one has gotten back to us regarding project updates.

First Citizens Community Bank

A relocated branch of FCCB Bank will be opening on June 16th. The bank signed a 7-year lease on the space. This location will replace it's existing Dover location, which closes June 13th and is across from the Burlington store on Route 13. A visit in April showed that interior modifications are in progress. In total, they now have over 45 locations between Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

FCCB Bank bought the former MidCoast Community Bank in 2020, entering them into the Delaware market. Their website states "Clients of FCCB Bank can expect traditional consumer and banking deposit products such as checking, savings, and CDs along with electronic/digital access to such accounts through online banking, mobile banking, and debit cards".
