Millennium Sushi is now open at the Queenstown Outlets! They are located on the Route 50 side, next to the Columbia store. They "soft" opened last week. BuildingDelmarva.com paid them a visit recently to check it out!

I was able to meet with the owners son when I stopped in, just before lunchtime. What is awesome about this restaurant is that it's a revolving sushi bar! You sit down at a table and have two options - order from the full menu OR grab whatever looks appealing as it rides by your table.

If you order from the full menu, your meal comes out on the top track on a little robot trolley. The trolley stops directly at your table. You grab your plate and it heads back to the kitchen.

The bottom track carries a rotating assortment of small plate sushi - usually about 4 pieces on each plate. The plates are color coded for pricing. Your invoice will be tallied up at the end of your meal based on the plates you chose. Each rotating plate is between $3 and $5.

The entire process is high tech. You can view the menu and order directly from your table by scanning a QR code. The staff highlighted the advantages of this unique style of dining... With sushi constantly moving by, you likely wont find yourself waiting too long for something to eat!

On the flip side, if you want to come in and relax, you can pick and choose options as they come by. They've already had several people come in, spend an hour with their laptops and eat the "passing" sushi as they work.

This should also be a hit with the outlet center employees, which will be able to stop in on a lunch or dinner break, grab a quick bite - and go.

On one side of the restaurant, single chairs line the wall for solo customers or smaller groups. If you want to bring the whole family, there are plenty of booths that seat up to 6.

In addition to Sushi, they offer different types of soup, noodles and other small plates. They do plan to expand their menu as they grow and find out what customers are looking for.

For those new to Sushi, they recommend the California roll or shrimp tempura. For the more daring Sushi eaters (and one of the more exotic items on their menu) is the Uni sushi - which is made from the edible gonads of sea urchins.

For drink offerings, Pepsi products are sold as well as sweet and unsweet tea.

As stated before, they are currently in a "soft opening". They are diligently working to obtain a liquor license from Queen Anne's County.
